Scott McLaughlin ends drought with dominant Laguna Seca win
Look at that, amigo— has finally broken his long winless streak, and he did it in absolute style. The 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season finale brought us the Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey, and McLaughlin simply owned the place from start to finish. It has been more than two years since his last victory, but this drive was a masterclass in how to tame a beast of a track.
Pilot of the No. 3 DEX Team Penske Chevrolet, McLaughlin crossed the finish line with a gap of 1.3739 seconds over the chasing pack. That pack was led by none other than , who pushed his No. 27 Sam’s Club Honda for Andretti Global all the way to second place. It was a stunning run at the front, but nobody had an answer for the Team Penske machine once it found its rhythm.
Behind them, claimed third place in the No. 20 Java House ECR Chevrolet. That result marks his first trip to the podium since he took third at this exact event back in June 2024 while driving for Arrow McLaren.
Rounding out the top five, brought his No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian Honda home in fourth, while secured fifth in the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet to give Roger Penske's squad a brilliant pair of cars at the sharp end of the field.
